Here are some types of projects we’d love to do with you:
- That proof-of-concept you’ve been dying to make. Maybe all your resources are tied up. Maybe you’re at a crossroads in functionality and can’t figure out what direction to go. Whatever the case, we’d love to be a part of getting you unstuck. We just finished a 2-week sprint where we handed off an MVP to be used in a pitch for an idea that existed at the organization for years. It was enough to raise a full round funding, and they just released an entire product around the idea.
- Helping your design and/or dev team level up their skills. Our teams boast some of the best minds in the industry. We’ve shared some tips and tricks with even the savviest internal teams about everything from design process to code libraries to performance gotchas and more.
- A project where you learn to do things differently. We don’t just work with local and global brands; other agencies often partner with or hire us to get a first-hand look into how we work. Teaming up with our folks helps bring that extra-special oomph that gives everyone a new perspective to appreciate.
- An idea that requires navigating bureaucracy. Sometimes, doing things the hard way is the right way. We don’t shy away from going to bat for good ideas. We can help your CEO play nice with your Product Managers. We can build consensus with even the surliest groups. Don’t fret; we’re particularly limber in the boardroom.
- A website or native app where the details really need to shine. We’re crazy about making the most exquisite and memorable art direction that you’ve seen in a digital product. Let’s make something that looks beautiful with your logo on it that everyone else wishes they had.
Also, in the interest of saving us all some time, here are some good reasons to not work with us:
- You’re shopping around for the lowest price. We don’t compete on price. We don’t subscribe to market rates; heck, we don’t even have rates. We work with every one of our customers to find a price that’s right for both you and us. We’ll only take on work if we’re confident that it’ll make you more money than you’ll spend on us, so we want to make sure that the initial investment is worthwhile.
- You need something done right away. While we never say never, we try and stay reasonably booked, so the chances of being immediately available are pretty slim.
- Your company has some pretty rigid contractual terms that are difficult to change. We think relationships should be mutually beneficial. If your legal team is infamous for being sticklers, that often rubs us the wrong way. We’re pretty flexible about terms, but we’ve also walked away over one clause. That’s not to brag; it’s just to say that we want the terms to be equally accommodating for both of us to feel excited about working together. No need to feel like we’re settling for each other. - You need a local team. SuperFriendly project teams are inherently distributed, so it’s not unusual for a project to have team members spread across locations and time zones. All SuperFriends know how to work well as a distributed team, which makes it all the more natural to work with customers that aren’t geographically close by. That said, we know that the distributed working style isn’t for everyone, so we’d be happy to point you toward some folks that we trust that might be closer to your location.
- You “just need it built.” If you have it all worked out already, we probably can’t add much value for you. We love helping our customers work through problems they can’t solve on their own.

We’ve been tossing around the idea of building [a mobile app] that [easily lets people catalog their sneaker collection]. When I asked around, my friend [Bob Loblaw] recommended I get in touch with you.
We’d like to launch it by [the end of the year] in order to [coincide with the relaunch of our flagship store]; let us know if you think that’s reasonable. We’re looking to partner with a team that [can take this all the way from conception to launch]. You’d be working directly with me and two developers on my team, so we could move pretty quickly. We’d like to keep the price to about [$160k, though we could probably go up to $200k if you could make a good case as to why we’d need the extra].
